Torq Pro is billed and refunded by Apple. Manage or cancel it in Settings, under your name, under Subscriptions. Refund requests go through Apple's report-a-problem page.

Common questions
How do I cancel Torq Pro?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancellation happens in your Apple Account. On the iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Torq and tap Cancel Subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end. We cannot cancel it from our side.
How do I restore a purchase on a new phone?
Open Torq, go to the Mod tab, and tap Restore Purchase while signed in to the same Apple Account that bought the subscription. Torq has no account of its own, so the Apple Account is the only thing that carries the entitlement.
The Start button opens the paywall. Why?
The first drive records and analyzes free, with no account. Recording every drive after that needs Torq Pro. If you have already recorded your free drive, starting another one asks you to subscribe. If you subscribed and still see the paywall, tap Restore Purchase; if that does not help, email us with the Apple receipt.
The gauge shows no speed.
Torq needs a GPS fix. Check that Location is allowed for Torq in iOS Settings, that you are outdoors or at least near a window, and that Low Power Mode is off, which throttles location updates. In a tunnel or a garage there is no fix and the gauge is blank on purpose.
The speed reads lower than my car's speedometer.
That is expected. Car speedometers are built to read a few percent high, and GPS speed on an open road is usually the more accurate of the two. A phone reading 3 or 4 km/h under the dial at highway speed is normal. Large disagreements point to a poor sky view or a phone placed low in the car.
The speed limit shows as unknown.
The lookup needs a data connection and a road with a limit tagged in OpenStreetMap. No connection, or an untagged road, gives an unknown. You can set a manual limit in settings for a road the map does not know.
No G-force, corners or comfort grade on my trip.
Motion permission may have been denied; Torq then records with GPS only and shows those fields as unavailable. Allow Motion and Fitness for Torq in iOS Settings. Very short trips, under about twenty moving samples, are also not analyzed.
The driving style card is blurred.
The profile needs 4 scored trips before it can be drawn. It unlocks on its own once you have them.
Does recording drain the battery?
GPS at high accuracy is the most power-hungry thing a phone does; an hour of recording can cost a noticeable share of the battery. Use a car charger for long drives, or set GPS Accuracy to Balanced in settings.
How do I export a trip, and how do I get one onto a new phone?
Open the trip, tap Export, and choose GPX Track, CSV Summary or Full Sensor DPSE; the share sheet takes it from there. To move trips to a new phone, export each as DPSE and import them from the Data section of settings on the new phone. Torq has no cloud sync, so this is the way.
How do I delete my data?
Delete a trip from its detail screen, or delete the app to remove every trip, setting and raw file. Nothing is stored on a Torq server, so there is nothing else to delete. Analytics and crash records held by our providers are keyed to a device identifier; email us if you want those removed too.
The app was closed during a drive.
Torq writes samples to disk as they arrive. On the next launch it offers to recover the drive, ending it at the last valid point, or to discard it. Recording continues in the background normally; termination usually means the system ran out of memory or the phone restarted.
Permissions Torq asks for
- Location, while using and in the background. To record the route, speed and altitude, and to keep recording with the screen off.
- Motion and Fitness. To confirm turns and to measure vertical vibration for the comfort and road grades. Optional; without it, GPS-only recording still works.
- Notifications and Live Activities. To show the recording on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Optional.
Each can be changed later in iOS Settings under Torq. The privacy policy says what each permission's data is used for.
